Please be advised that StrataSync services on the US and EURO Server will be unavailable on Saturday, December 4th, from 00:01 until 6:00 AM EST  (UTC-5)

( 0501 until 1100 UTC )

The following web functions, reports,  and Instrument synchronization services will be unavailable during this maintenance window.

  • {VIAVI test instrument synchronization with StrataSync/CERTiFi}
  • {VIAVI test instrument synchronization with StrataSync via Mobile Tech Application}
  • {StrataSync and CERTiFi web user interface}
  • {StrataSync APIs/external interfaces}
  • {StrataSync scheduled and notification emails, including saved views and reports}
  • {StrataSync Reports}
  • {StrataSync Analytics dashboards}
  • {StrataSync data exchange links}

During this period StrataSync will be upgraded to release version 13.0.

StrataSync 13.0 is a standard release that will contain new functionality, performance enhancements, and bug fixes.

A link to the 13.0 Release notes will be also posted on “What’s New” in the StrataSync application.

Updated software for the SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000 and -4000 V2

The latest software release includes several usability enhancements, these are the main new functional additions, for more information please see the release notes:

True Bi-directional fiber certification for T-BERD/MTS-2000 V2 and -4000 V2

True bi-directional fiber certification solutions to improve fiber technician efficiency, driving operational excellence with FiberComplete PRO (formerly TestPRO)

TrueBIDIR software option adds real time on-board bi-directional OTDR result analysis (patented)

  • Immediate result allows you to perform corrective actions while you are still on site, reducing future site revisits
  • Improves event location and measurement accuracy
  • Provides greater detail by finding events hidden by uni-directional OTDR testing
  • Gives ‘true’ event loss to immediately assess ‘gainers’ and false negative events
  • No additional post processing effort required

Data exchange via instrument test port and fiber under test (patent pending)

  • Synchronize instruments to eliminate test configuration errors and reduce instrument setup time
  • Eliminate file transfer time and effort with automatic retrieval of test results from remote/far-end instrument
  • No additional communications media required (WiFi connection, Smartphone tethering, USB, etc.)

VIAVI have released updated software for the Optimeter, this latest software release includes several usability enhancements, the main enhancements are described below, for more information please see the release notes:

Handle any FTTH last mile architecture with improved test algorithm to accurately verify splitter continuity for all splitter types 1×4 to 1×32

New point to point test mode creates a more versatile instrument for multiple industry applications providing test and in-service troubleshooting capability for any fiber link (up to 60km) including FTTA fronthaul

Easier to understand OptiTrak view with clearer event icons and Pass/Fail indication supported with richer pop up messages and descriptions to avoid any miss-understanding or mistakes in the field:

  • New “Optimeter Connector” icon, event type and details
  • New fiber launch cable indication (2 loops) in link view
  • New “First Connector” icon, event type and details
  • Updated pop-up messages
