Updated Software for the Optimeter, SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000, -4000V2 and OneAdvisor 800 Fiber instruments (Jan 2023 release)

VIAVI has released updated software for the Optimeter, SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000, -4000 V2 and OneAdvisor 800 fiber. The latest software release includes several usability enhancements, these are the main new functional additions, for more information please see the release notes:


Optimeter

New OptiTrakPLUS application for repair teams performing maintenance and troubleshooting of point-to-point access, mobile fronthaul/backhaul fibers (FTTA, DAS and small cells).

Expert level deep dive fiber analysis

    • Display OTDR trace and instantly toggle between link map view and trace view

Speed up time-to-repair and boost fiber repair team efficiency

    • Realtime OTDR, instantly verify splices/repairs, check fiber length, and perform intermittent fault-finding

Guarantee techs are working on the right fiber and perform fiber continuity/identification checks over longer distances than standard Visual Fault Locators (VFL)

    • 2KHz tone generator (available for products manufactured after Oct 1st, 2022)

Release of Software Version 1.2.1 for the CX300 ComXpert Communications Service Monitor

VIAVI Solutions announced software release version 1.2.1 for the CX300 ComXpert Communications Service Monitor. This release provides an improvement and a number of fixes. The new firmware contains the following items:

Improvement

  • Improved user experience by further optimizing tab performance.

Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where FM measurements could be slightly off if using 30 kHz IF filter.
  • Fixed an issue with P25 Phase II reporting a high BER percent when using the 1031 pattern.
  • Addressed an issue with DMR All Call not populating the Radio ID field with the correct numerical value when pressed.
  • Resolved a problem that prevented VSWR calibration from being performed successfully.
  • Updated the DMR Generator menu to be consistence with Analog and P25 UIs.
  • Fixed a potential issue when using both a manual offset and cable loss, these could override each other, resulting in incorrect measurements.
  • Resolved a bug with HCPM where the signal was being transmitted in both slots.
