New Features with latest T-BERD/MTS Software Update

VIAVI has just released updated software for the T-BERD/MTS-8000E, -6000A MSAM & CSAM and the T-BERD/MTS-5800 and SmartClass 4800. The latest release enhances the benefits of reliable, easy testing and results analysis that you get with these all-in-one tools. The new software version includes test options and feature enhancements that enable network tests at new speeds and with new capabilities that make testing faster and more efficient.

No-cost Feature Enhancements:

  • Launch Tests from Job Manager – Make testing easier and more consistent by following a test plan. Simply create a test plan with configs for each test at our Job Manager website, load to your T-BERD/MTS-5800, launch, and run exactly the test(s) you want. When complete, save all results in a single PDF file.
  • Dual Port 100G RS-FEC – Use for 200G coherent muxponder applications using two SR-4 interfaces. Complete flexibility to mix and match between 100G Ethernet and OTN interface types.
  • CPRI Check – Qualify remote radio head (RRH) installations from the physical layer to the RF checking PIM and VSWR and setting antenna tilt.
  • AOC/DAC Cable Test – Enjoy streamlined workflow to test multiple AOC/DAC cables faster than ever and save results to a single PDF file with Job Manager.
  • IEEE 1588 PTP – Use new ability to perform floor packet analysis and extended wander analysis runtime via optional SD card.
  • OTN Check – Verify network compatibility with OTN encryption with improved GCC transparency settings.
  • Ethernet and Fiber Channel Service Disruption – Better measure switching times through ROADMs at 1G, 25G, and 100G line rates with the addition of several new measurement triggers.

New Orderable Options:

  • 100G One-way Delay – Perform one-way latency packet delay measurements on 100G, 40G, and 25G Ethernet interfaces – requires a timing reference such as:
  • Built-in GNSS – The T-BERD/MTS-5800-100G now includes a built-in global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver providing high a high-quality timing reference for one-way delay, 1 PPS, IEEE 15888 PTP, and wander analysis. Supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and SBAS systems.
  • RF Analysis over OBSAI – Eliminate a costly, dangerous tower climb by analyzing radio frequency data over the OBSAI protocol to detect interference at the bottom of the tower.
