Updated Software for the Optimeter, SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000, -4000V2 and OneAdvisor 800 Fiber instruments (Oct 2023 release)

VIAVI has released updated software for the Optimeter, SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000, -4000 V2 and OneAdvisor 800 Fiber. The latest software release includes several usability enhancements, these are the main new functional additions, for more information please see the release notes:

OTDR and SmartLink Mapper Test Applications

Faster project creation within Cable-SLM with rationalized setup menus

New variable OTDR pulse width – define the one you need!

  • Adapt to any test requirement with ability to manually define OTDR pulse length required giving greater flexibility for any test scenario

Optimeter

Enhancements for easier results understanding

FiberComplete PRO / FiberComplete

Increased user guidance to help with operation of FiberComplete PRO / FiberComplete to minimise training and familiarization time.

Multiple enhancements made to setup menus, result views, file storage and reporting.

  • Streamlined and simplified setup for OTDR acquisitions for faster setup adjustments and modifications
    • Pulse and Acquisition time OTDR set up now possible directly in FCOMP PRO / Fcomp app E
      • Creation of ‘Manual’ OTDR acquisition mode within setup menu
    • Direct shortcuts within F-Comp process view to reduce setup change time and complexity
      • modify location and launch cable details
      • tap on the launch fiber icon or location to edit directly without going through setup
    • Enhanced file storage and reporting options
      • Choice to add .sor file storage included within Report setup menu
      • Real-time sync and addition of Date & Time for greater file naming accuracy
    • More comprehensive certification with g additional information included in .pdf reports (Unitary fiber report, Project report)

OneAdvisor 800 Fiber

Broadband source support on the ONA-800 platform providing a full Fiber Characterization solution (CD, PMD, AP) based on the OneAdvisor 800. Providing the capability to integrate with high speed (200/400G) service testing with dispersion testing on a single field portable platform.

Instruments/Mainframes – VIAVI Test Process Automation (TPA)

Centrally manage and track your workforces job allocations with Job Manager

  • Create, deploy, and manage jobs (with specific tests, configs and pass/fail limits), linked to work orders, directly to instruments
  • Full integration of StrataSync and Mobile Tech App within Job Manager

At the conclusion of this maintenance window StrataSync will be running  Release Version 15.5.

Release notes for V15.5 will be sent when available, and a link will also be posted on the What’s New section of the StrataSync home page.

VIAVI has released updated software for the Optimeter, SmartOTDR, T-BERD/MTS-2000, -4000 V2 and OneAdvisor 800 fiber. The latest software release includes several usability enhancements, these are the main new functional additions, for more information please see the release notes:

Optimeter

New OptiTrakPLUS application for repair teams performing maintenance and troubleshooting of point-to-point access, mobile fronthaul/backhaul fibers (FTTA, DAS and small cells).

Expert level deep dive fiber analysis

    • Display OTDR trace and instantly toggle between link map view and trace view

Speed up time-to-repair and boost fiber repair team efficiency

    • Realtime OTDR, instantly verify splices/repairs, check fiber length, and perform intermittent fault-finding

Guarantee techs are working on the right fiber and perform fiber continuity/identification checks over longer distances than standard Visual Fault Locators (VFL)

    • 2KHz tone generator (available for products manufactured after Oct 1st, 2022)

OTDR applications for the T-BERD/MTS-2000 V2, -4000 V2, and OneAdvisor 800 Fiber
