New Software Provides Enhancements for JDSU T-BERD/MTS Models

We just released updated software for the 40/100G Transport Module for the T-BERD®/MTS-8000 (v18.3), the MSAM module for the T-BERD/MTS-8000 and -6000A (v18.3), and for the T-BERD/MTS-5800 (v5.3). This new software version includes feature enhancements that enable you to test your network more efficiently.

No-cost feature enhancements:

  • Ethernet QuickCheck Application — Launch a 30-second Ethernet auto-negotiation, far-end connectivity test and a basic throughput test in one button-push. This time-saving automated test originally developed in RFC 2544 and Y.1564 is now a stand-alone application in addition to being included within those workflow tests.
  • RFC 6349 TrueSpeed™ Metric Analysis — Every technician is now a TCP expert with automated RFC 6349 metrics analysis: TCP efficiency, buffer delay and TCP throughput. The TrueSpeed test now indicates the likely culprit for poor network performance and suggests potential fixes.
  • PacketPortal® JMEP SFProbe® Programmer — Field technicians can now use the T BERD/MTS 5800 to program the JDSU JMEP SFP-based probe with an IP address and other key properties.
  • 100 G Test Enhancements — The 40/100G Transport Module for the T-BERD/MTS-8000 can now detect and inject undersized and runt frames along with a 150 ppm increased transmit frequency offset.
  • G.8261 Wander Masks — G.8261 wander masks have been added to the wander analysis tool.
